About the distillery

Ardmore stands apart within Highland whisky for maintaining a distinctly peated house style at a time when many mainland distilleries moved away from smoke. Its whiskies often combine earthy peat, spice and dry malt character in a profile more restrained and rustic than Islay malts. Historically important within Teacher’s blends, Ardmore developed a stronger enthusiast following as official and independent bottlings became more available.
