About the distillery

Bowmore is one of Islay’s oldest operating distilleries and occupies a stylistic middle ground between the intensely medicinal southern malts and the lighter coastal styles found elsewhere on the island. Its whiskies are typically known for balancing peat smoke with floral notes, maritime salinity and restrained fruit character. The distillery’s legendary seaside warehouses, including the famous No. 1 Vaults, remain central to its identity and maturation profile.
