About the distillery
Dallas Dhu is a Speyside distillery near Forres that ceased production in 1983. Rather than being demolished, it was preserved intact and is now run as a historic visitor attraction by Historic Environment Scotland — a rare chance to walk through a late-Victorian distillery left much as it stood on its final working day. Its single malt survives only in remaining old stock and independent bottlings, which is why it still appears in retail catalogues decades after the stills fell silent.
