Glen Spey historically operated almost entirely within the blending industry, where its lighter and cleaner spirit style proved highly adaptable. The distillery is particularly associated with subtle fruit, cereal sweetness and restrained oak influence rather than bold or heavily textured whisky. Official single malt releases have remained comparatively rare, leaving Glen Spey somewhat obscure outside enthusiast circles.
