About the distillery
Cardhu occupies a central role within the Johnnie Walker blending portfolio and helped define the approachable Speyside style associated with smoothness and accessibility. Historically significant as one of Scotland’s pioneering female-led distilleries under Helen Cumming and her descendants, it remains closely tied to the development of commercial Scotch whisky. Its whiskies generally emphasize soft fruit, malt sweetness and gentle spice over intensity or peat.
